BMW unveiled today the facelifted models of the 4 Series family. As expected, the 2017 BMW 4 Series Facelift focuses on lighting technology and interior changes, in addition to two new options in the color palette.

The two new finishes are exclusively reserved for the BMW 4 Series and provide a particularly sporty touch: The first pictures of the revised BMW 4 Series Coupe (F32 LCI) show the new color Snapper Rocks Blue, with its turquoise blue. And the first pictures of the refreshed convertible show, the also new, Sunset Orange.

Further modifications to the 4 Series models are related to the the interior and the technology package. A new feature of the range is the multifunctional instrument display, which has been known for many years, but has not been offered in the BMW mid-range models. The complete tacho-unit behind the steering wheel becomes a digital display, which can change its look depending on the driving mode, and can be used to display numerous information.

In the central infotainment display on the center console, the 2017 BMW 4 Series Facelift 2017 utilizes, as expected, the latest iDrive generation with tile optics. New upholstery colors and interior trim, as well as some minor improvements in haptics and looks round off the upgraded interior.

Another visual highlight is the double stitching on the instrument panel, while three new upholstery colors together with three new interior trim strips provide even greater choice when it comes to personalizing the interior’s design.

All of the petrol engines and the four-cylinder diesel units fitted in the new BMW 4 Series range stem from the latest BMW EfficientDynamics family of engines and are equipped with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. There are three petrol engines (BMW 420i, BMW 430i and BMW 440i) and three diesel options (BMW 420d, BMW 430d, BMW 435d xDrive) available for all of the new BMW 4 Series models.

The power output of the petrol-engined BMW 4 Series model variants ranges from 135 kW / 184 hp in the BMW 420i up to 240 kW / 326 hp in the BMW 440i (fuel consumption combined: 7.9 – 5.5 l/100 km [35.8 – 51.4 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 185 – 127 g/km). When it comes to the diesel line-up, meanwhile, the power spectrum extends from 140 kW / 190 hp in the BMW 420d up to the 230 kW / 313 hp of the BMW 435d xDrive (fuel consumption combined: 5.9 – 4.0 l/100 km [47.9 – 70.6 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 155 – 106 g/km).

The BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is available in a further diesel variant – the BMW 418d with an output of 110 kW / 150 hp (fuel consumption combined: 4.5 – 4.1 l/100 km [62.8 – 68.9 mpg imp]; CO2 emissions combined: 118 – 107 g/km).

Bmw 4 series convertible interior

Wind, crashing waves, endless horizons – that feeling of the infinite that is echoed in every detail of the BMW 4 Series Convertible.

With the roof open, the continuous two-colour door and side panels and the cover concealing the stowed-away hardtop lend the car something of the character of a boat’s deck. Each individual design element seems to grow out of the others. Enfolded in this sense of aesthetic unity, the BMW 4 Series Convertible awakens a relish for freedom and joy of life in every driver. And with the roof closed, individual lighting moods serve up a feast for the senses, whatever the weather outside is doing.

As in the first pictures of the facelift, the BMW F33 4 Series Convertible LCI also radiates the world premiere at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in Sunset Orange Metallic. The new varnish is combined with the elegant Luxury Line and showcases its brilliance in the spotlight at the BMW booth.

The noble appearance is supplemented by the 19-inch light-alloy wheels Style 708, which are presented discreetly in two colors and thus create a further eye-catcher.

The most important modification of the model facelift is undoubtedly the adaptive full-LED headlights, since the luminaire units, which are unchanged in their outer shape, have a completely new inner life with flattened and therefore hexagonal corona rings.

The interior daytime running light ring also feature a horizontal LED bar for a direct connection to the dual drive and underlines the focused view of the 2017 BMW 4 Series. Although the models of the 4 series are – since the facelift – equipped standard with bi-LED headlights, the fresher optics of the optional lighting technology is likely to make the decision for the adaptive lights easier for many customers.

In a new form, the aprons on the front and rear are also presented, while the chrome elements of the Luxury Line are even more prominently. The equipment line available for all engine types also ensures that the struts of the twin, the screens of the Air Breather air outlets are chrome-plated behind the front wheels and the tailpipes of the exhaust system.

Inside, this BMW 4 Series Facelift LCI carries the Dakota leather trim in Ivory White. The sports seats are equipped with the optional neck warmers and the exhibition car is almost fully equipped – from the professional navigation system to the steering wheel heating system and the Head-Up display, to the multifunctional instrument display, which makes its debut in the BMW mid-range .
